Welcome!

Hi Everyone :-)

I welcome you warmly to my first photography blog!

I have been longing to get this blog going for sometime since I got my very own camera a few months back. It is a Kodak digital camera which opened the door for me into the wonderful world of photography.

Since I was a little girl, I really wanted to capture the beautiful moments & locations which we come across in our life in order to collect those memories in a more secure way. My Kodak made that dream come true and through my blog, I hope to share all my photographic experiences with all of you.

Hope you'll enjoy looking at them and reading through my experiences in capturing them into my precious Kodak!!!

Trip to Digana : Golf Course

We went on this trip on December 2008 and it gave me some of the best scenery shots I have captured so far...

The location was Digana, a town further off from Kandy. We lodged in a holiday bungalow inside the Victoria Gold Course. It was my first time on a Golf Course in SL and I was quite impressed.

The golf course: as seen from the holiday bungalow which was located on top of a small hill...

The Victoria Dam: as seen from along the road towards the bottom of the hill...

Tissamaharamaya

This photo presents Tissamaharama Dagoba, which is a Buddhist religios place built by an ancient Sinhalese King called "Kavanthissa" in the 3rd Century BC (though it had been repaired time to time by later rulers). It is situated close to the Tissa Wewa and Tissa town in Southern Sri Lanka.

I captured these pictures on a trip to south with my parents. We had lunch at the Tissa Wewa Rest House (of the Sri Lanka Hotel Coperation). It was situated at a bank of Tissa Wewa and the surrounding scenery was awesome. My Kodak clicked!

Tissa Wewa Rest: At its BEST

A Tree with an Artistic Formation

Along the Colombo-Badulla road at Valhaputenna, right in front of Valhaputenna Maha Vidyalaya, I found this tree. Isn't it facinating how trees form themslves according to light and sound and a variety of other factors?

It even have this orchid-like sub-plant growing on its trunk, as you can see on this pic.

This particular tree is bending towards the road, to listen to the sound of people and vehicles that are moving beyond.

Nature is amazing, isn't it?

An Elegant Christmas Decor

This charming christmas decor caught my eye as I walked into the institute where I am following my BSc. I couldn't help marvelling at its designer's creativity in putting together some simple things to create such a beauty.

This proves what 'synergy' means, doesn't it?

Synergy (in my own words):

the output created by the combined power of individuals is greater than when you separately consider each individual's power...

The 2009 christmas party evening was made quite glamerous with those 'elegant decors' and they were such a delight to every eye which passed through!
